Here at Before We Meet in Sunderland, we understand that pregnancy isn’t just a journey for parents, it’s a big transition for the whole family. For many children, the idea of becoming a big brother or sister can be exciting, emotional, and sometimes a little confusing. That’s why we’ve created a special Sibling Scan experience just for them!
Our Sibling Scans are a lovely way to help your older children bond with the new baby before they arrive. During this scan, we make the experience all about your little one’s new role as a big sibling. They’ll get to see their baby brother or sister on screen, hear their heartbeat, and ask questions in a gentle, age-appropriate way. It’s a magical and memorable moment that often helps children feel more connected and involved and even more excited to meet the newest member of the family!
To make it easier for families to attend, we offer dedicated Sibling Scan slots every Monday and Wednesday from 3pm to 5pm, perfect for popping in after school. These special sessions are relaxed, welcoming, and child-friendly, with plenty of time for older siblings to get involved.
Of course, children are also welcome at any of our scans at any time, not just during these slots, but our Sibling Scan clinics offer a unique, family-focused experience that puts big brothers and sisters at the heart of the moment.
At the end of the scan the siblings are given their own baby scan, a big brother or big sister sticker and a reading book from Before We Meet to read to the baby in mummys tummy and when the baby is born.
We know every family’s routine is different, which is why we also offer evening appointments throughout the week, so you can find a time that suits you best. Whether you're working around nursery pick-ups, school clubs, or busy work days, we’ll do our best to accommodate you.
